THEATER TITANICK / CHESTER LE STREET / Co DURHAM / July 2010

Event Management

Brought in with only eight weeks to the event CDH worked closely with the County Councils department to event manage Theater Titanicks challenging “Firebird” show. This included everything from building 40m ramps in the town square, hiring 100 tonne cranes, developing crowd and traffic management plans, managing and administrating the large budget as well as working closely with the artists to deliver a safe but exciting event.

The impact on the small town was enormous, with the show rolling into town creating a huge amount of interest from the community as well as a considerable amount of scrutiny from the local authorities.

The event was a massive success and we have been asked to pitch future ideas to the county for next years ‘Brass’ festival but we’ll leave the last words to a local Chester Le Street resident.

WOW!

I cant quite believe what just happened in our little town. Even the terrible weather didn’t put off a great crowd enjoying the best spectacle ever seen in CLS. Along with the pubs and other night time business The tuck shop and cafe direct looked to be reaping the benefits from the extra footfall and people will  undoubtedly be talking about  Theatre Titanik..and Chester le street…for a time to come.

The considerable effort in making this happen by your team and all those involved can only mean our town profile is raised and along with the forthcoming events you have organised will remain raised. I’m sitting here now listening to my staff whom mostly dont live in CLS going over the event in the finest detail with colleagues whom missed out and using the ‘Chester’ word in every other sentence!

Got to mention the Theatre Titank players themselves who were simply spectacular (I’m guessing they gave the safety committee guys a few panicky moments along the way) but as they say build it and they will come!

I’m sure over the next few days / weeks the feedback you get will all be positive and what a great fillip for our town, Thankyou.”

ADIDAS ORIGINALS STREET PARTY / CORONATION STREET / MANCHESTER / JUNE 2010

Production

The challenge? In 48 hours get a main stage, PA, screen, sets, lighting, audience, artists, catering, lighting, marquee, carpets and fencing in and out (oh and have the party) of the tiny Coronation street set and hand it back in perfect condition for Sunday filming.

CDH were brought in by Sparkle Street to oversee all the production elements for the Adidas Originals Street Party in June 2010 as particular attention to not only the detail of the overall look was needed but also the tight deadlines and sensitive nature of the location being an iconic film set.

The results are there to see from the film above. Mission completed successfully even if a little tired by Sunday morning
